  • Behind-The-Ear (BTE). The most common hearing aid style, this earpiece is available in standard, mini or power and comes in a wide variety of colors to choose from. This no hard-to-use buttons or dials piece is suitable for people with moderate to severe hearing loss.

  • OPEN-FIT (BTE). Aids are used by people of all ages for a variety of hearing losses. This kind of BTE aid is an open-fit hearing aid. Small, open-fit aids fit behind the ear completely, with only a narrow tube inserted into the ear canal, enabling the canal to remain open.

  • Receiver-In-Canal (RIC). Easy to fit, small with discreet design. This small piece is suitable for first-time hearing aid wearers and is perfect for people with mild to severe hearing loss.

  • In-The-Ear (ITE). Every easy to adjust, this custom hearing aid fits the outer portion of the ear and is perfect for people with mild to severe hearing loss.

  • In-The-Canal (ITC). Another commonly used earpiece, this device fits in one’s ear canal with the smaller side showing in the outer ear. A person with mild to mildly severe hearing loss usually has this type of earpiece which also comes in a wide variety of color.

  • Completly In the Canal (CIC). describes a type of hearing aid that is so small that it fits right into the ear canal. It has the advantage that it's usually less visible that the ITE or BTE aids, but its disadvantages include smaller batteries (with shorter lifespans), lower power, and fewer features (eg usually, no T-Switch).  CIC aids may be suitable fittings for people with less serious losses, who don't plan to use assistive technology, but anyone with a more serious loss should definately consider other aid types.

  • Made for iPhone. As the name implies, this type of hearing aid can be connected directly to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch via the TruLink Hearing Control App.
